MATILDA'S FARMYARD

Matilda’s Farmyard Nursery is an Illawarra-based mobile farmyard that brings friendly farm animals to celebrations, community events and care settings. Operating for more than 21 years, the business offers hands-on animal encounters designed to entertain guests of different ages. Its services include birthday parties, school and preschool visits, fetes, playgroups, shopping-centre appearances, corporate functions, weddings, diversional therapy, and visits for film, television and media productions.

Wedding packages can be tailored to the occasion, with two staff members accompanying the animals for guests to meet and greet; flower crowns or garlands are also available for llamas or donkeys. For diversional therapy, the nursery selects gentle animals that can be nursed and tailors visits to individual centres. The animals are described as friendly, hand-raised and comfortable around people.

Matilda’s Farmyard Nursery also offers e-gift vouchers and market passes, and regularly attends markets and special events. The business is licensed, holds public liability insurance, and states that its staff and TAFE work-placement volunteers have Working with Children checks
