Matofa is a performance running apparel brand focused on creating plastic-free gear for runners. Its first product is a range of performance running caps, promoted through a Kickstarter campaign. The caps are designed without synthetic plastic fibers, including polyester and nylon, with materials and components selected for comfort, quality and running performance.

Instead of a plastic snap or elastic cord, each cap uses a lightweight metal retention dial for on-the-run fit adjustment. A gap-less merino wool sweatband wraps around the head and can manage sweat when the cap is worn forward or backward. Breathable merino wool mesh and ripstop complete the design, with the brand highlighting heat, sweat and odor management as key benefits of natural fibers.

Customers can customize a cap by choosing from multiple colors, embroidery marks and thread options, then save their preferred build and back the campaign.
