Matrix Flight Simulators

Matrix Flight Simulators develops the Matrix Flier, a full-scale general aviation flight simulator designed to deliver an immersive experience without virtual reality. Its enclosed, Cessna 182-sized cockpit combines 180-degree HD imagery, surround sound, infrasonic vibration, force-feedback controls, and, in an optional version, precision three-dimensional motion. The system is designed to reproduce the sensations and procedures of flight, from pre-flight and taxiing through takeoff, cruise, and landing.

The Matrix Flier is initially offered as a do-it-yourself kit, with the materials needed for assembly. Its modular construction allows the cockpit to be built in an average room and disassembled into sections that can pass through a standard bedroom doorway. Equipment includes a touchscreen instrument panel, physical controls, a general aviation-style radio stack, and connections for aviation headsets.

The simulator’s software supports flight practice and scenarios for both visual and instrument flight operations. Users can train with an AI, a cloud-based instructor, or an actual instructor, and simulate equipment failures and emergency situations.
