G.S.B.V. de Mattekloppers is a student-run judo and jiu-jitsu club based in Groningen, serving students in the Northern Netherlands. The club brings sport and community together, welcoming members to train and take part at their own pace. Its programme includes regular judo and jiu-jitsu sessions, an introductory course, and guidance from club trainers. Members can also compete in local and international tournaments, with opportunities to represent the University of Groningen in student events. Recent highlights include the university judo team winning gold in the European Mixed Teams Students Championships, alongside individual medals for four judoka.
Beyond training, de Mattekloppers organises monthly social gatherings, workshops, and other activities that help members connect outside the dojo. Students can also contribute to the club by joining one of its committees, and former members can stay involved as alumni. The organisation shares its training schedule, news, event information, and membership details through its website.
