Matteo Appignani

Matteo Appignani Arte is the personal art portfolio of Italian artist Matteo Appignani, presenting his paintings, artistic research, exhibitions, and selected reviews. His work explores architecture, form, color, portraiture, and ideas influenced by metaphysical and surrealist art. In Il Vuoto, Appignani focuses on the spaces formed between buildings, reflecting on how three-dimensional space is understood through visible surfaces.

His Vertigini series features architectural views, often looking upward from below, where shape and color meet. The Monnalisa On Chain collection comprises 21 paintings that reinterpret Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa through drawing and color, with each work linked to an NFT. Portraits are another longstanding part of his practice, serving as a means of study and expression through drawing and painting.
