Matyas Barak

Matyáš Barák is an independent product and interior designer whose practice brings together furniture, interiors, and spatial installations. He develops bespoke furniture and interiors for residential and commercial settings, including cafés, museums, and showrooms, as well as exhibition displays, public-space projects, and temporary installations. His approach balances function, aesthetics, and sustainability, with each design shaped by the context of its location.

Barák graduated in 2020 from the Royal College of Art in London, specializing in furniture and interior design. His experience includes work with Petr Hájek Architekti, where he contributed to a competition proposal for a new Czech Philharmonic building, and a Materials Researcher role at Foster + Partners in London. He also spent almost two years assisting the Product Design Studio at Scholastika.

Selected projects include a rainwater fountain prototype for Hornbach, playful public seating developed with Swedish company Nola and installed in Malmö, and an Icelandic driftwood installation created through the RE-USE competition.
