About MAVEG
MAVEG – the Hungarian Vegan Association, established in March 2018, is dedicated to transforming the perception of those involved in the animal rights movement and promoting a plant-based lifestyle in Hungary. Our mission is to collaborate with vegan initiatives, groups, and individuals, while also striving to raise awareness about the cruelty-free way of living. We collaborate with legal professionals and health experts such as GPs, dieticians, and specialists to provide vital support and guidance where needed.
One of our primary goals is to assist Hungarian families in securing vegan lunch options for their children at school. Additionally, we organize outreach programs and workshops featuring renowned international experts. Our workshops cover a range of topics, including the plant-based diet, animal rights, vegan fashion, and lifestyle.
We conduct these sessions in schools, at various events like Vegan Sunday Market Budapest and Vegan Food Fest, as well as online via Zoom. Furthermore, we host the annual Vegan Holiday where participants can relax, connect, and indulge in incredible vegan dishes. At MAVEG, we have translated books and documentaries, including Peter Singer's "Animal Liberation" and the film "Dominion.
