Max-Fly Open

The Max-Fly Open is a community golf fundraiser organized by Max (John) McGee and a large group of friends to raise awareness and money for Children’s Wisconsin. The event brings golfers, sponsors, and supporters together for a day of golf while benefiting an organization dedicated to children’s health and well-being. Children’s Wisconsin provides pediatric care for children of all ages, from routine checkups to complex conditions, at more than 40 locations across the state. It also works with schools and neighborhoods through community support programs.

The 2026 Max-Fly Open is scheduled for Friday, July 3, at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex, Wisconsin. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start, with drinks and door prizes after golf. The event is sold out, and registration is limited to people already signed up. The website shares event information, directions, registration materials, photo galleries, past champions, and a list of sponsors whose support helps advance the fundraiser’s purpose.
