About MaxCrowReeves
Max Reeves is a London-based self-taught photographer acclaimed for his exploration of themes encompassing Myth, Marginality, and Genius Loci. Originally from Papakura, Aotearoa/New Zealand, Reeves moved to London in 1990 after studying English, History, and Philosophy at Auckland University. He resides in Spitalfields and has been an active member of the humanitarian organization, The Serious Road Trip, since 1994, capturing poignant moments during his travels to regions such as Bosnia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan.
As a versatile artist, he regularly exhibits his work at the Bethlem Gallery and participates in numerous solo and group shows, including the prestigious John Kobal Photographic Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery. Reeves co-founded the Wetherspoons Underground Psychogeosofy Club in 2008 and established Entropy Press in 1987, which publishes poetry and photography books, along with the zine Papakura Post Office.
