About Max Social Enterprise Limited
Max TapWater is a safe water social enterprise that envisions a future in Bangladesh without a water crisis. They aim to ensure that every person in Bangladesh has access to safe, sufficient, and affordable water delivered directly to their homes. Established in 2019, Max TapWater connects households to easy and safe water through piped water grids.
With a focus on simplicity and local sourcing of materials, Max TapWater has built 35 grids so far, providing safe water to 1,394 households. Their innovative approach involves working in small clusters of households, partnering with local entrepreneurs who co-invest in the project.
Research shows that piped water improves health and reduces the burden of water collection, primarily borne by women and girls. By bringing piped water to homes, Max TapWater aims to help Bangladesh reach the final step on the SDG water ladder: 'safely managed drinking water' that is located on premises and free from contamination.
