Mayfield Renshukan Karate Club

Mayfield Renshukan is a traditional Shotokan karate club established in 1971. Based in Ireland, the dojo is registered with SKIF-Ireland and has been affiliated with the Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation (SKIF) since 1978. The club offers karate training for beginners aged eight and over, as well as classes for all grades, with a free first lesson available. Sessions take place on Monday and Friday evenings.

Training aims to develop practical karate skills alongside focus, mental clarity, strength, flexibility, agility, cardiovascular fitness and self-defence awareness. The club also emphasises respect, teamwork, cooperation and personal growth, with the dojo offering opportunities to build lasting friendships. Its programme and resources cover Shotokan kata, kumite, dojo etiquette, grading syllabuses and competition rules. The club states that its black belts are graded by Japanese instructors and registered at SKIF headquarters in Tokyo. Mayfield Renshukan is fully insured, and its instructors are fully Garda vetted. Through its traditional teaching and connection to the international SKIF community, the club supports students as they develop their karate over time.
