Mazingira

Association Mazingira is a nonprofit organization based in Trento, Italy, focused on development cooperation and environmental conservation. Its work connects communities in Italy and Tanzania through projects that support biodiversity, sustainable livelihoods, and environmental awareness. In southern Tanzania, the association collaborates with the community of the Udzungwa Mountains to promote sustainable alternatives to the use of forest resources.

Its activities include agroforestry and tree nurseries, efficient energy technologies, environmental education, women’s empowerment, and ecotourism. The organization also runs global citizenship education programs in Italian and Tanzanian schools, helping students develop tools to examine global issues critically. In Italy, it carries out awareness-raising activities and events, alongside other local projects.

Association Mazingira presents its work through project information and opportunities to get involved, and publishes details about its history, partners, statutes, and financial statements. By combining community-based initiatives in Tanzania with education and engagement in Trentino, the association aims to support environmental protection and cooperation across different contexts
