About McColl Center
McColl Center is an acclaimed artist residency and contemporary art space located in Charlotte, North Carolina. We believe that art thrives when artists are provided with a supportive environment. As a hub for creativity and a catalyst for growth, McColl Center is committed to putting artists first.
Our offerings include subsidized artist studios, modern equipment and tools, entrepreneurship programs, and a 5,000 sq. We champion contemporary artists and aim to spark creative experiences that have a positive impact on the community. Our vision is for Charlotte to be nationally recognized as a vibrant creative community where professional artists thrive.
McColl Center has a rich history, established in 1997 and opened to the public in 1999. We have hosted over 400 artists through our Artists-in-Residence program, with 40% of them being North Carolina natives. Our immersive community engagement sets us apart and we are nationally recognized as one of the top artist residency programs in the United States.
You can plan a visit to McColl Center on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00 to 6:00 p. m. Private tours are also available by appointment.
Admission is complimentary, with a suggested donation of $10. We are located at 721 N. Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28202.
