About William McDonough
William McDonough is an architect, advisor, designer, thought leader, and author who is recognized globally as a leader in sustainable development. With a vision for a future of abundance for all, McDonough is helping companies and communities think differently to change the world. From his architecture practice, William McDonough + Partners, he has designed many flagship projects of sustainable design, including the Ford Rouge truck plant, the Adam Joseph Lewis Center for Environmental Studies, and NASA's Sustainability Base.
McDonough has also written extensively on design and sustainability, co-authoring seminal texts such as Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things and The Upcycle: Beyond Sustainability–Designing for Abundance. Additionally, he advises commercial and governmental leaders worldwide through McDonough Innovation and co-founded the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute and GreenBlue.
