About Mgahinga Community
Mgahinga Community Development Organization (MCDO) is a brand that applies an integrated approach to community development in Kisoro district, Uganda. They focus on advancing environmental conservation, education, ecotourism, and sustainable agricultural initiatives. MCDO was founded in 2003 with the aim of bringing together various community initiatives and coordinating them to achieve greater impact.
They have undertaken projects such as the construction of Mutanda Eco Community Centre, initiatives in sustainable agriculture, provision of safe drinking water to schools, and the promotion of eco-tourism. MCDO's goal is to improve literacy rates, provide resources to children, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and create safe activities for the community around Lake Mutanda.
