McHenry Sportsmen’s Club is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization established in 1948, welcoming new and experienced shooters to enjoy trapshooting. Located in Johnsburg, Illinois, the club is generally open to the public year-round, weather permitting, on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It operates five regulation trap fields equipped with automated target-throwing machines and voice release. Members share their knowledge with newcomers, and the club also hosts private and corporate events at its trapshooting facility and wooded grounds.

The club organizes leagues, competitions, shoots, and social gatherings, including ATA events, a club championship, and a picnic. Annual memberships are available for regular participants. A limited supply of ammunition can be purchased at the clubhouse; purchasers must have a FOID card. The club requires lead shot no larger than size 7.5 and does not allow steel shot.
