Raised in Bedford as the youngest of ten, Matt's impressive journey includes graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1981, where he excelled as a varsity football player. With a robust military background, he served as a jet pilot in the Navy, accumulating significant experience before transitioning to a successful 33-year career as a commercial airline pilot with Northwest Airlines and Delta Airlines.

Matt is deeply engaged in his community, having volunteered in youth sports and served as a driver for the Hillsborough County Meals on Wheels program after retiring during the COVID pandemic. His personal life is rich with family values; he is married to Debbie Myers and proud to be a father of three and a grandfather of five.
