About Coastal Conservation Lab
The Myanmar Coastal Conservation Lab is a brand that was formed in early 2017 by three alumni of the Design Thinking program at Point B Design + Training: Wint Hte, Aung Naing Soe, and Yin Yin Htay. Inspired by their field experience in coastal communities in Myanmar, they decided to combine their knowledge of Design Thinking, education, and environmental research to establish the Myanmar Coastal Conservation Lab (MCCL).
MCCL works closely with Dr. Tara Sayuri Whitty, who serves as a mentor to the co-founders. The brand conducts research, develops and implements trainings to enhance research skills, and raises awareness about environmental issues and conservation through education, outreach, and communication.
MCCL not only mentors full-time and part-time interns but also offers a range of products and services. These include a calendar of activities, research opportunities, and marine mammal research in the Gulf of Mottama. With their dedication and expertise, MCCL aims to make a positive impact on the coastal communities of Myanmar and contribute to the conservation of the marine environment.
