MCSE Csillagtanya

The Hungarian Astronomical Association (MCSE) is a community for people interested in astronomy, from beginners and young learners to experienced amateur observers. It welcomes members who want to expand their knowledge, make astronomical observations, and support the study and popular understanding of astronomy through membership or volunteering.

MCSE offers observing events, talks, courses, and age-specific astronomy clubs at the Polaris Observatory in Óbuda, along with activities at other observing locations. Its specialist groups cover subjects including the planets, the Moon, the Sun, meteors, comets, variable stars, double stars, and astronomy history. Members and visitors can access observing guides, event listings, observation-submission tools, and online community resources.

The association also publishes the Meteor astronomy magazine, an annual astronomy yearbook, and other educational materials, and maintains news, bibliographies, and archives. Through its observatories, publications, public programs, and observing network, MCSE helps people learn about the night sky and take part in practical astronomy.
