About Multnomah Co. Sheriff’s Office
The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is dedicated to fostering safe and vibrant communities throughout Oregon's most populous county. Serving diverse areas, including unincorporated regions and four contract cities (Fairview, Maywood Park, Troutdale, and Wood Village), MCSO is responsible for an extensive 110 river miles, more than any other sheriff's office in the state. The office operates two correctional facilities, including the Multnomah County Detention Center and Inverness Jail, ensuring secure inmate transportation and supporting county courthouse operations.
MCSO emphasizes innovative public safety strategies and builds strong relationships within the community by treating all individuals with dignity and respect. The agency’s structure includes divisions for law enforcement, corrections, agency services, and business services, all underpinned by an annual budget of $190 million dedicated to providing exemplary public safety service. Led by Sheriff Nicole Morrisey O’Donnell, MCSO stands firm in its mission to uphold community rights while continuously striving for improvement and equity in public safety initiatives
