About Velocity Clinical Research
Velocity Clinical Research is a clinical research organization that conducts studies to help advance new medical therapies. Its Hallandale Beach, Florida, site was founded in 2005 as MD Clinical by board-certified neurologists Beth Safirstein and Kerri Wilks, and joined Velocity in 2018. The center specializes in neurology and psychiatry trials, including research into Alzheimer’s disease and memory impairment, depression, bipolar disorder, Parkinson’s disease, and migraine. Its fully equipped sleep laboratory supports studies of insomnia and circadian rhythm disorders, and a dedicated, secured Phase I unit enables early-stage research.
The site serves Miami and other South Florida communities from an accessible, ADA-compliant facility with more than 9,500 square feet of research space. Its bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking team works to engage diverse participants, including Latinx and older adults. Services and capabilities include participant recruitment and care, physician-led clinical trials, extended-stay study facilities, a CLIA-certified research laboratory, electronic data capture, and secure investigational product and specimen storage. Research is conducted in accordance with ICH and FDA guidelines and Good Clinical Practice.
