The Maison Départementale des Personnes Handicapées (MDPH) de La Réunion is the island’s public point of contact for people with disabilities and their families. It provides information, guidance and support, and receives applications for disability-related rights and benefits. Applications are assessed in light of each person’s needs and life plan; the Commission des Droits et de l’Autonomie des Personnes Handicapées (CDAPH), organized by the MDPH, makes decisions on the rights and benefits awarded.
The website helps adults and families of children prepare an application, with required-document checklists, form-filling guidance, online application access, forms and practical information. It also explains support relating to daily life, education and employment, and offers frequently asked questions, guides and a glossary. The MDPH connects users with partner associations and directories of medical-social establishments, disability organizations and employment-integration services.
Public reception is available at its Saint-Denis headquarters and Saint-Pierre branch, with opening-hour details and accessible contact options for people who are deaf or hard of hearing
