Me-Symppikset

Me-Symppikset Oy is a Finnish child welfare provider operating Symppis-Vuohijärvi, a specialist residential care unit in the village of Vuohijärvi, Kouvola, in the Kymenlaakso region. Set close to Vuohijärvi and surrounded by nature, the unit is also a short distance from Repovesi National Park. Its approximately 300-square-metre residence includes a newly built section completed in 2022.

Symppis-Vuohijärvi provides round-the-clock substitute care, upbringing and rehabilitation for up to seven children aged 10–17 who have been taken into care or placed through emergency or open-care support measures. The team supports young people experiencing psychological or neuropsychiatric challenges, attachment difficulties, trauma, and difficulties with school attendance. Its areas of expertise include child and adolescent psychiatry, trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, neuropsychiatric support, school-related challenges, and care and rehabilitation for children and young people with eating disorders. The unit can also support young people with mild substance-related symptoms. Me-Symppikset’s services focus on meeting each child in everyday life and providing tailored care and support.
