About Mead Orchards
Mead Orchards in Tivoli, NY has a rich history spanning over 100 years. Originally known as White Clay Creek Orchards, the farm was established in 1916 by G. Gordon Mead.
Over the years, the farm has evolved into what it is today, known as Mead Orchards. Under the stewardship of Gordon's son, Sid, and later co-partnered by Sid's son, Chuck, Mead Orchards expanded its offerings. They started with shipping apples to NYC and eventually focused on cultivating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.
Today, they grow apples, pears, peaches, plums, apricots, nectarines, berries, cherries, pumpkins, sweet corn, squash, tomatoes, peppers, and more. Visitors to Mead Orchards can enjoy the experience of picking their own strawberries, blueberries, plums, cherries, peaches, and apples during the season. All three generations of the Mead family have a background in agriculture, with Chuck continuing to explore innovative methods for raising these crops.
