MedClaim Assist helps medical aid members resolve claims that have been underpaid or not paid. Founded to support people facing confusing claim decisions and mounting medical bills, the organisation reviews claim documents to identify whether an error may have occurred with a doctor’s invoice or the medical scheme’s processing. Its expertise includes assessing issues involving Prescribed Minimum Benefits, non-payment gaps, benefit allocation and medical savings.
The process begins when a member submits a claim or invoice, along with relevant supporting documents such as doctor or hospital invoices and medical aid statements. MedClaim Assist evaluates the case at no cost and explains how the claim should have been paid. If it finds a discrepancy and believes it can help, the team explains the proposed next steps and, with the member’s consent, contacts the medical aid and doctor on their behalf. If the organisation cannot assist, it explains why and does not charge for the evaluation.
