The Medea Project

The Medea Project is a British band creating primal gothic doom, blending brooding gothic atmosphere with heavy metal and doom influences. Originally formed on South Africa’s east coast, the project was revived in southern England by guitarist and frontman Brett Minnie. After performing around London and the southeast, the band released a self-titled three-track EP that introduced its soulful, melancholic and raw sound. The lineup later continued as a two-piece, with Minnie and drummer Pauline Silver recording the debut album, Sisyphus, released in 2020. Its theatrical darkness and bleak, immersive style drew positive attention from metal and alternative music publications.

In June 2025, The Medea Project released its second album, Kharon, unveiling it at a London launch show. Featuring artwork by Daniele Serra and mastering by Markus Stock, the album develops the band’s distinctive creative identity through shadowy, atmospheric compositions.
