About Media&Learning
Learning is an international not-for-profit association known as the Media & Learning Association (MLA). Established in 2012 under Belgian law, their mission is to promote and stimulate the use of media as a means of enhancing innovation and creativity in teaching and learning across all levels of education in Europe. Their members include national and regional agencies, universities, ministries of education, and schools' networks.
The MLA focuses on advancing education by empowering educators, students, and institutions with the necessary skills and competencies to effectively integrate media and digital tools into daily practices. They offer various resources and initiatives, such as media, extended reality (XR), and artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, digital media literacy, teacher training, and open educational media resources (OEMR). They are dedicated to identifying and sharing best practices, supporting the development of digital and media literacy strategies, and inspiring innovative solutions to enhance pedagogical approaches.
The association offers different types of memberships, including organisational members, sponsoring members, and networking members. They engage in collaborative projects, host conferences, online events, webinars, and workshops. Their activities also include facilitating European projects, providing news and information services to over 10,000 recipients, conducting surveys, and carrying out research activities.
With their active involvement in European initiatives and expert communities, the Media & Learning Association plays a pivotal role in promoting a digitally enabled education approach and combating disinformation. They have a strong presence on social media platforms and actively participate in key European activities. To become a member, organisations, sponsoring partners, and network partners can join the association and benefit from their extensive resources and networking opportunities
