About Research Centre for Responsible Media Technology
MediaFutures: Research Centre for Responsible Media Technology & Innovation is a world-class research center located in Bergen's Media City. The center is dedicated to developing responsible media technology, specifically leveraging AI technology, for the media sector. While AI technology has proven to be valuable in various domains, it has also raised ethical concerns such as the creation of echo chambers and political polarization.
MediaFutures aims to address these challenges by conducting research on advanced new media technology to enhance user engagement, media content production, and media content interaction and accessibility. The center delivers a range of research outputs, including patents, prototypes, papers, and software. It also provides research training in media technology and innovation to have a lasting impact on the media landscape.
As a consortium of key media players in Norway, with the University of Bergen as the host, MediaFutures collaborates with renowned national and international research institutions to drive innovation and value creation in the media industry
