International Media Support (IMS) is a non-profit organisation working to strengthen independent media and support better, more informed societies. It promotes quality journalism, challenges repressive laws and helps protect media workers of all genders so they can carry out their work. Through alliances, innovation and collaboration with local partners, IMS combines rapid response with long-term support to address challenges facing the media.

Active with partners in more than 30 countries, IMS focuses on places where independent media faces particular risks, including armed conflict, humanitarian crises, rapid political change and authoritarian rule. Its work supports media organisations, journalists and content producers in building their capacity, strengthening public-interest journalism and finding ways to remain viable in their local contexts. Key areas include journalist safety, media development, democracy, dialogue and documentary film. IMS also contributes to global discussions on media and journalism, and shares guidance through publications, training resources, news and analysis. Its initiatives include support for journalists working in Gaza and programmes that help media organisations uphold democracy and informed public discourse in Europe. IMS offers opportunities to engage with its work and partners, including through donations and a monthly newsletter.
