Médiation consommateurs is a consumer dispute mediation service established by the French Franchise Federation to help consumers and franchise professionals resolve disagreements amicably. Its Commission supports dialogue between consumers and franchisees or franchisors when direct efforts to settle a dispute have failed. The service covers disputes arising from the performance of a sales or service contract, across business sectors and company sizes.

Consumers may apply within 12 months of sending a written complaint to the professional, provided the request meets the mediation eligibility requirements. The service does not handle proceedings brought by a professional against a consumer or disputes between professionals. For franchise businesses, mediation offers a prompt and cost-effective way to address customer conflicts while supporting customer satisfaction and business reputation.

Médiation consommateurs also provides practical information about the mediation process, an online directory of participating franchise networks, frequently asked questions, and annual activity reports. Drawing on experience dating back to 2011, the Commission serves member networks of the French Franchise Federation and their consumer customers
