Médicos do Bem is a community health campaign promoted by Medibook to help people in Curitiba access basic medical care. In 2019, participating doctors donated more than 1,000 appointments, offered at no charge in their private practices during December. The initiative aimed to support public health, encourage prevention and help people seek care before conditions worsen.
Patients booked appointments online through the Medibook platform, choosing either a generalist for guidance without a diagnosis or a specialist when they already had a diagnosis or referral. Each patient could schedule one appointment, with available slots allocated in booking order. The campaign also shared health information and prevention tips, including advice on heart health and allergic rhinitis.
Médicos do Bem announced that its 2020 campaign was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, correcting false claims that it would proceed that year. The organizers expressed hope of bringing the initiative back with more donated appointments when circumstances allowed. The campaign’s contact details and address are in Curitiba, Paraná
