MedPhab is a brand that specializes in accelerating the commercialization of diagnostic devices and instruments for treatment based on photonics. Combining optics and electronics, photonics enables a wide range of medical applications, including diagnostic devices and treatment instruments. However, the field of photonics and its applications are often fragmented, making it challenging for equipment manufacturers. Additionally, strict regulations within the sector hinder the introduction of new solutions.

To address these issues, the European Commission has funded the establishment of MedPhab pilot-line under Horizon 2020, the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The pilot production line aims to centralize the ordering process and direct it to manufacturers with the best implementation capability. By validating the pilot production line in the hospital environment, home care devices, and equipment for chemical diagnostics, MedPhab aims to reduce the R&D cost and expedite the commercialization process.

MedPhab works in collaboration with a consortium of excellent research institutes and companies with ISO 13485 standardized manufacturing experience and strong expertise in photonics.
