Zinc About It is a design studio in Maarn, the Netherlands, specializing in personal and distinctive ways to commemorate loved ones and give cremation ashes a meaningful destination. Working from the principle that every person and story is unique, the atelier develops and creates individual memorial objects that reflect personal emotions and choices.
Its t’URN concept combines the function of an urn with the appearance of a garden sculpture or memorial image. Each piece is individually designed, with a range of materials and combinations available to create a fitting, personal result. The studio also offers URN+plus, a two-in-one concept that brings together an urn and an ash scatterer. Using a simple turning, sliding, or hinge mechanism, the object can be transformed for a respectful scattering ceremony.
Zinc About It focuses on innovative product development and the design and production of memorial creations for ash remembrance. Its work includes the URN+plus scattering bowl, which received the IFA Award in Belgium in 2015. The studio is associated with Guus Fricke.
