C.V. de Meerkoetelaars is a community carnival association serving the Wieringermeer region of the Netherlands. The organization brings residents together through seasonal celebrations, local traditions and activities for all ages, with festivities led by its Carnival Prince, court members, council members, dance group and court band. Its program begins with the announcement of the new Prince and culminates in several days of Carnival events, including school visits, a ceremonial key handover and evening celebrations. The association also organizes ticketed events and offers options such as single-event tickets and a Carnival pass.
Beyond the festivities, C.V. de Meerkoetelaars shares community content and resources. Its Koetelkrant magazine is distributed to households, farmers and businesses across the region, with a digital edition available to readers outside the delivery area. The website also features a downloadable coloring page, an annual Carnival date guide, event information, a photo gallery and a documentary about the association’s history.
