About Meewasin
Meewasin Valley is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring a healthy and vibrant river valley in Saskatoon and its surrounding areas. Its mission is to strike a balance between human use and conservation in order to benefit present and future generations. Founded in 1979 by the Government of Saskatchewan, Meewasin operates under the Meewasin Valley Authority Act and collaborates with the City of Saskatoon and the University of Saskatchewan.
Meewasin offers a wide range of services and programs to conserve the cultural and natural resources of the South Saskatchewan River Valley. Their offerings include the Meewasin Trail, a scenic pathway that provides opportunities for walking, cycling, and taking in the beautiful surroundings. They also organize various educational programs and events for both educators and the public, aimed at promoting environmental awareness and appreciation for nature.
