Melbourne Grappling Academy (MGA) is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Moorabbin, Melbourne, offering structured training for children and adults in a purpose-built facility. Its approach combines technical instruction, progressive programmes, physical preparation and member-focused service to support development over the long term.
Children’s classes are organised for ages 4–7 and 8–13, and are led by black-belt coaches who hold Working With Children Checks. Adult beginners can start with a five-week programme designed to introduce the sport alongside other newcomers; experienced practitioners can join the All Access programme. MGA also offers a Foundations Programme, integrating physical preparation to help members build strength, fitness, flexibility and coordination, as well as a dedicated Strength and Conditioning programme.
The academy’s coaching team includes Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belts and coaches with experience in sports medicine, personal training and exercise science. MGA is located across two levels, with 170 square metres of grappling mat space and an 80-square-metre strength and conditioning area.
