Melchior Taxidermy is a locally based taxidermy business in Green Bay, Wisconsin, owned and operated by Robert Melchior. Practicing taxidermy since 1973, Robert creates mounts of birds, fish, small game, and large game for customers in the Green Bay area and elsewhere in the United States. The business focuses on producing lifelike, durable trophies using anatomically correct forms and quality competition-grade body parts.
Each mount is made in the shop to the customer’s specifications, with Robert available to discuss design options and how best to showcase a trophy. Melchior Taxidermy describes its work as quality and affordable, and provides a quote before starting a project. Customers can visit the showroom to view examples and discuss their needs, with appointments arranged by phone.
The business also shares practical taxidermy tips, including guidance on preparing fish, birds, deer, and other large game. Its advice emphasizes freezing a trophy and bringing it to a taxidermist promptly to help preserve it for mounting.
