About MeltPrep
MeltPrep is a brand that specializes in innovative sample preparation solutions for thermoplastics, particularly in the field of pharmaceutical formulations. Founded in 2014 by Daniel Treffer, a Chemical Engineering graduate from Graz University of Technology, MeltPrep aims to provide a less harmful and more efficient approach to sample preparation. By simplifying traditional methods such as hot pressing and injection molding, MeltPrep introduced vacuum compression molding (VCM) as a thought-out and straightforward solution.
Their VCM tool allows for the preparation of high-quality samples starting from powders. MeltPrep is a cooperative spin-off of the Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering GmbH (RCPE), which is based in Graz, Austria and was established in 2008. The RCPE is known for its interdisciplinary projects split into three areas: modeling and prediction, advanced products and delivery, and process and manufacturing sciences.
MeltPrep also benefits from the support of Science Park Graz GmbH, an academic business incubator. As a Science Park member, MeltPrep enjoys the resources and expertise provided by this non-profit organization.
