**Melungeon Roots**
Melungeon Roots is a unique digital project dedicated to honoring and rediscovering the heritage of the Melungeon people and their descendants. Founded by Jes, a passionate genealogy enthusiast with roots in Eastern Kentucky, the initiative emerged from a personal journey to connect with ancestral stories and foster a deeper understanding of Melungeon identity. The platform serves as a comprehensive resource hub, gathering and organizing historical information, genealogical insights, and cultural stories related to the Melungeons and associated ethnic groups.
This community-focused website offers tools, a glossary, and a wealth of resources aimed at both new researchers and seasoned historians. It provides an inviting space for individuals to celebrate their heritage, share research, and engage in discussions. With an emphasis on collaboration, Melungeon Roots aspires to connect with organizations like the Melungeon Heritage Association to further enrich its offerings. As it seeks funding for future sustainability, Melungeon Roots invites contributions from those passionate about preserving this rich cultural legacy.
