MEMO DOOEL Skopje is North Macedonia’s National Electricity Market Operator. Established in August 2018 following the adoption of the country’s new Energy Law, the company is wholly owned by MEPSO, North Macedonia’s electricity transmission system operator. In September 2020, the government designated MEMO as the operator of the organized electricity market, and the company began work to establish the technical conditions needed to develop that market.

MEMO provides services and information for electricity market participants, including participant registration, balance responsibility information, market reports, and registers for participants, balance groups, and eligible producers. Its website also publishes electricity market data such as average prices, participation percentages, and final hourly, preliminary weekly, and preliminary monthly forecasts. The operator provides information concerning preferred producers of electricity, including those using renewable sources, and offers resources on guarantees of origin. MEMO also shares regulatory materials, public information, procurement notices, and organizational publications. Through these functions, it supports the administration and transparency of North Macedonia’s electricity market and serves as an information point for market participants and the public.
