Memoria-Stein

Each project begins with conversations about the deceased person’s life, character, interests, and the stories their loved ones wish to preserve. Schostak translates these recollections into original designs, working collaboratively with clients or developing ideas on their behalf. The resulting pieces combine clear, contemporary design with forms and materials chosen to reflect each person’s individuality.

Memorials are made from a range of materials, including limestone, marble, sandstone, granite, wood, glass, and steel, with an emphasis on European or locally sourced options. Offerings include grave markers, memorial stones, grave sculptures, and redesigned family grave sites; the practice also presents sculptures and objects for homes and gardens. The creative process can form part of remembrance and grieving, allowing a memorial to be thoughtful, colorful, restrained, or unconventional. memoriaStein also handles installation at burial sites in Berlin, Potsdam, Brandenburg, and elsewhere in Germany.
