About Memphis Rock n Soul
Welcome to the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum, where the rich history of rock and soul music comes alive. Created by the Smithsonian Institution in 2000, our exhibition celebrates the musical pioneers who defied barriers and created the music that shook the world. Located at 191 Beale, on the corner of legendary Highway 61 and inside the iconic FedExForum sports and entertainment complex, our museum offers a comprehensive Memphis music experience.
From the rural field hollers of the 1930s to Memphis' musical heyday in the 70s, our exhibits will take you on a journey through the birth and evolution of rock and soul. With over 300 minutes of audio content and more than 100 songs, our digital audio tour guide will enrich your visit. Explore our seven galleries featuring three audio-visual programs, 30 instruments, 40 costumes, and other musical treasures.
We are open daily from 10:00 a. m. Admission is $13.
