About Mendiak eta Herriak
Mendiak eta Herriak is a mountain guiding organisation that has been taking people into mountains and mountain communities since 1976. Its programmes span activities for beginners and experienced mountaineers, combining guided outings with training in mountain skills. Offerings include hiking in destinations such as the Basque Country, Crete, La Palma, Madeira, Scotland and the Alps; rock climbing courses and guided climbs; and high-mountain routes in the Pyrenees, Picos de Europa and the Alps.
The organisation also arranges ski experiences, from piste and Nordic skiing to ski touring in the Pyrenees, Sierra Nevada, the Alps and more remote regions. Trekking itineraries cover mountain regions across Europe, Africa, Nepal, India, Central Asia and the Andes, with tailor-made options available. For high-altitude travellers, Mendiak eta Herriak offers expeditions from 5,000 to 8,000 metres, with programmes designed to support acclimatisation.
Its youth activities welcome participants aged 3 to 18, with family and independent programmes ranging from mountain trips to a first ascent of a 3,000-metre peak
