About #MenEndFGM
Men End FGM Foundation | Nairobi is a global award-winning movement dedicated to ending female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), child marriage, and other forms of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) against women and girls. Founded in 2013 as an online campaign (#MenEndFGM), the foundation aims to challenge activists, CSOs, and government agencies to include men and boys in their efforts to combat these harmful practices. In 2019, it was officially registered as Men End FGM Foundation, incorporating young Kenyan activists into the movement.
Through online and offline campaigns, the foundation has become a leader in the fight against FGM, child marriage, and SGBV. Their vision is a society free from these oppressive practices, while their mission focuses on empowering girls and educating boys and men through mentorship and sensitization. Guided by principles of collaboration, equality, diversity, and integrity, the foundation works to protect the rights of women and children, responding to emergencies and promoting development.
