Menno Aden is a Berlin-based conceptual photographer whose work explores how architecture, social structures and human presence shape the way people experience space. Known for his Room Portraits, he photographs living and working interiors from a bird’s-eye perspective, revealing everyday environments as detailed topographies and raising questions about surveillance, control and voyeurism. His practice also includes series on imagined machines, industrial robots, sports hall floors, former Cold War buildings, landscapes, underground infrastructure and prefabricated housing.
Using systematic documentation and digital compositing of multiple exposures, Aden uncovers patterns and subtle differences that might otherwise go unnoticed. His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in public, institutional and private collections. The website presents his photographic portfolio alongside information about exhibitions, news, press coverage and his curriculum vitae.
It also documents his awards, lectureships and curatorial projects, offering an overview of his artistic career and ongoing investigations into how spaces are organized and inhabited
