Mente

Mente, formally known as the Päijät-Häme Social Psychiatric Foundation, is a Finnish organization supporting people recovering from mental health and substance use challenges. Its services help clients strengthen everyday life management, independence, participation, and control over their own lives. Mente views recovery as an individual and evolving process.

The organization provides housing and rehabilitation services in Lahti and Heinola. Housing options include round-the-clock residential care for people with substantial support needs, communal housing where residents practise daily skills, and supported housing that assists independent living. Mente also offers nutritious home-style meals for housing service clients and physiotherapy focused on mental and physical wellbeing and personal functional goals.

Through its health and wellbeing activities, Mente provides lifestyle guidance addressing nutrition, sleep, and exercise. It also works to improve digital inclusion for people recovering from mental health difficulties. Mente develops recovery-supporting services together with its clients and holds SHQS quality recognition for its service operations. The organization also welcomes professionals, students, and trainees interested in meaningful work supporting rehabilitation.
