MEP, SARDA, CONMARE, and ZOROVIĆ, renowned companies in the maritime and technology industries in Rijeka, have collaborated on the EKO BROD project to promote the transition to environmentally friendly passenger vessels. This innovative project encompasses a comprehensive package of complementary products and services, including the design and installation of ship systems, a consumption tracking application, and sailor education on a unique ship simulator. Launched in 2020 during the pandemic, the goal of this collaboration is to establish a long-term value chain and meet the market demand for eco-friendly vessels, with each company contributing its expertise.

MEP, as the project leader, is responsible for designing and implementing critical power and uninterrupted power supply systems in maritime applications. SARDA is the project partner for developing maritime transportation applications, CONMARE will provide ship system design, and ZOROVIĆ will conduct sailor education through its unique training program. With over 20 employees involved, the project aims to achieve significant cost savings, increased operational efficiency, compliance with environmental protection standards, and extended vessel lifespan. The EKO BROD project is also co-financed through the European Regional Development Fund, with a total value of 7,102,258.37 HRK and non-refundable funds of 3,454,527.56 HRK.
