Il Mercante in Fiera Catanzarese is an illustrated card game and cultural design project by artist Luca Viapiana, inspired by the places, people, traditions and character of Catanzaro. Its 40 vivid, expressive illustrations form a connected visual portrait of the city, with dialect titles that capture local identity and stories. The standard Dal Negro gift set, produced in Treviso and distributed by Tessilarredo Srl of Catanzaro, contains two plastic-coated decks of 40 cards and an illustrated instruction sheet.

The project also offers oversized cards as numbered, signed and certified art multiples, produced in limited editions of 40 copies per selected image. Each measures 66 by 100 centimetres and is printed on high-quality, high-density polymer material. Through its OUTLINE by Luca Viapiana collaboration, the project brings the artwork into interior design with customizable, secure, flush-fitting armored doors made with Cosfer. Individuals, associations and public administrations can also commission custom card decks featuring illustrations based on their own stories and memories. Together, these products share Catanzaro’s imagery through games, art and design.
