Mercian Cycles is a British bicycle maker founded in Derby in 1946, where its team hand-builds bespoke steel-frame bikes. The brand combines traditional craftsmanship with options tailored to each rider, including custom dimensions and paint finishes. Its range covers electric, gravel, touring and endurance, sport, and urban bikes, with the Ventura Allroad designed to handle both fast road riding and off-road routes. Customers can use Mercian’s bike configurator to explore colours and visualise a personalised frame before it is made.
Steel is central to Mercian’s approach: the company highlights its comfort, durability, repairability, and recyclability. Alongside new bikes, Mercian offers repairs and renovations, helping riders maintain or restore their bicycles. The company also shares stories from its riders and publishes news about its bikes, heritage, and community. Founded in Derby and exporting bikes around the world, Mercian presents its long history as part of a continuing commitment to practical, individual bicycles built for memorable rides.
