The Mercury Class Yacht Racing Association (MCYRA) is the premier organization for one-design sailboat racing in California, boasting a rich history of over 79 years. The MCYRA is dedicated to nurturing a vibrant community of sailors who are passionate about competitive racing and family-oriented activities on and off the water. Members can enjoy an active regatta schedule that includes events throughout top racing venues across California, such as San Francisco Bay, Carmel, Monterey, and Los Angeles, ensuring thrilling competition year-round.

The association offers resources for both novice and experienced sailors, including historical archives, race results, and information on crew opportunities. Mercury sailboats are accessible for entry-level racers, with competitive used boats available from around $1,000. This community emphasizes not just competition but also fun, as demonstrated by various social events, such as beach parties following races. With regular updates and support for members, MCYRA continues to attract top sailors while promoting a culture of camaraderie and environmental stewardship through initiatives like Sailors for the Sea’s Clean Regatta program.
